This 1971 Lola T222 is one of eight produced for use in Can-Am competition, and one of five delivered new to US distributor Carl Haas. It was campaigned by privateer David Causey and completed six races during the 1971 season before sustaining fire damage at Laguna Seca. The car remained in his possession until 1990, when it was sold to Bud Bennett, who carried out a refurbishment. Subsequent owners drove the car in numerous vintage racing events throughout North America and Europe, including a victory at the 2003 Road & Track Invitational at Laguna Seca.
