This 1967 Ford Mustang coupe is one of approximately 375 examples manufactured at Ford’s Lima, Peru, assembly plant starting in October 1966, and it was purchased new by Limeño road rally racer Cristobal Galjuf, who drove regionally under the name “Batman” to hide his racing activities from his father. The car was driven daily through 1971, when it was shipped to Holman–Moody (H&M) of Charlotte, North Carolina, for conversion to an “FIA-spec” racer, and it was campaigned by Galjuf in six road rallies across Central and South America during the racing season that followed, including first overa
