This 1979 Maserati Merak SS is one of 787 examples produced between 1976 and 1983. A US-market car, chassis AM122US2432 was purchased by a German collector and brought to Europe in the early 1990s before being acquired by racing driver Walter Nowotny in 1999 and relocated to Austria. It subsequently underwent a refurbishment in the 2000s that included a 2002 rebuild of the 3.0L quad-cam V6 by Rudi Walch of RWS Motorsport prior to being refinished in red circa 2022 and later brought to the US.
