This custom-bodied 1931 Studebaker began its life as a Commander sedan that is believed to have spent time in Maine before making its way to Ohio, where it was sold to a Cleveland owner in 1978. The car was purchased by its previous owner in 2017 and placed in storage until it was purchased in 2023 by the seller, who subsequently modified it with inspiration from the baquet racers that contested Argentinian rallies in the 1920s and ’30s. Work included shortening of the frame by 24” and the fabrication of riveted open bodywork rearward of the cowl. Power is provided by a 250ci inline-eight that
