This Ford Mustang drag car was conceived by Lieutenant Jack Snyder of the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) as a focal point for the department’s education program that addressed alcohol- and drug-impaired driving. Christened “The Chaser,” it is modeled on the fast, lightweight Special Service Package (SSP) Fox-body Mustangs used by NHP during the 1980s. The car is finished in dark blue metallic with silver accents, NHP markings, and a working light bar, and the body is mounted over an X-bar roll cage attached to a Pro Stock-style chassis by Pro Chassis of Southern California.
