This sports racing prototype was built in 1952 by Carrocería Lazzarino in Buenos Aires on special commission for the president of Ford Argentina as an Italian-inspired, Ford-powered rival to the high-performance foreign race cars that ran on the contemporary Argentinian race circuits. Among the car’s earliest races was a victory in the Gran Jornada Automovilistica “Presidente Peron” in 1954 before the car was sold and continued to be campaigned in races throughout Argentina and other areas of South America into the 1960s.
