The original Lexus IS 300 is one of my favorite sport sedans from its era, thanks to its engaging driving character, bold styling, and 2JZ 6-cylinder power. This particular IS 300 boasts the desirable 5-speed manual transmission, and it's finished in gorgeous Itensa Blue Pearl. It's also very nearly unmodified, and it benefits from a recent timing belt replacement. Plus, this IS 300 has spent most of its life in dry-climate Southern California, which always increases the appeal.

Highlights
- This IS 300 is equipped with the desirable 5-speed manual transmission.
- The attached Carfax vehicle history report shows no mileage discrepancies in this IS 300’s past. It also shows registrations mostly in California since new.
- A partial list of notable equipment reported by the seller includes 17-inch wheels, a limited-slip differential, a power sunroof, leather and cloth upholstery, and cruise control. The seller reports no modifications.
- After a decade of stealing Mercedes-Benz's lunch money, Lexus took a swipe at BMW by releasing the first-generation IS for the 2001 model year. It was developed as a Japanese take on the 3 Series recipe: nimble, quick, rear-wheel drive, and powered by a straight-6 engine. Production ended in 2005, though Lexus still uses the IS nameplate today.
- Power comes from a 3.0-liter inline-6, rated at 215 horsepower and 218 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
