A 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG with just 26,000 miles sold for $50,505 — strong money for a car that’s already edging past its fair market value.

The SL63 AMG is a powerhouse, featuring a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 that churns out around 550 horsepower. With the P30 Performance Package, this car isn’t just about luxury; it’s built for serious performance. Low mileage like this is a huge plus. Buyers know that a well-maintained example can really hold its value, especially in the AMG lineup. The Designo Magno Alanite Grey paired with Designo Classic Red Nappa leather isn’t just eye-catching; it’s a combo that appeals to those who want to stand out while still enjoying top-tier luxury.

Now, about that final bid. The auction saw 46 bids, showing that there was plenty of interest. For a sale price of $50,505, you’re looking at a figure that’s about 14% above the fair value estimate of $44,301. While the high demand is clear from the bid count, this sale price puts it firmly in the “strong money” category. Buyers in this segment usually expect to pay a premium for low-mileage examples, but this one might have pushed the limits a bit.

Commenting on the sale, one user pointed out, "You’re not just buying a car; you’re investing in a piece of automotive history." It’s an interesting take, as it highlights the dual nature of the SL63 AMG: it’s a thrilling sports car but also a serious asset for collectors.

For those on the hunt for a similar vehicle, keep an eye on the vehicle's maintenance history. Look for records that detail service work, especially anything related to the engine and transmission. Given the SL63’s performance pedigree, a complete service history can mean the difference between a great buy and a costly mistake. Trust me, a well-cared-for AMG can be a joy for years, but a neglected one can turn into a wallet-drainer.
