The 2013 BMW M3 Coupe Lime Rock Park Edition just sold for $61,944, and that's strong money for this modified, low-mileage collector's item.

This M3 is not your average run-of-the-mill coupe. With only 200 units produced in this limited edition, it’s a rare find. The heart of this beast is a 4.0-liter V8 engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This setup delivers an exhilarating driving experience, especially when you factor in the upgraded KW V3 coilovers and the 18" BBS RI-A wheels. These enhancements not only boost performance but also add a touch of style, making it a head-turner on the street. Plus, the rod bearings have been replaced, which is a crucial maintenance point for M3 enthusiasts.

Now, let’s talk numbers. The auction attracted 23 bids, indicating a healthy level of interest. However, the final price of $61,944 is a hefty jump from the fair market value estimate of $29,500. That puts this sale at 110% above the expected price based on comparable sales. While the modifications and rarity add value, it’s hard to justify this price tag against the fair value estimate. So, while it may have a well-deserved place in a collection, this sale doesn’t represent a good deal by market standards.

The community had mixed reactions. One user noted, “It’s the regular street-oriented KW V3 coilovers,” suggesting that while the mods are nice, they may not be as high-end as some buyers might expect. This comment reflects a common sentiment that while the car is cool, it might not be the ultimate performance build that some are looking for.

For anyone hunting a similar M3, the key takeaway is to scrutinize the modifications closely. While OEM+ upgrades can enhance a car’s appeal, ensure they align with your performance expectations and don’t overly inflate the price. Be aware of how common certain mods are and weigh them against the car's overall condition and maintenance history. In a market where every detail counts, knowledge is your best tool.
