The 2008 Mercedes-Benz CL550 sold for $9,999, which I’d call strong money given its mileage and specs.

This coupe is a solid mix of luxury and performance, powered by a 5.5-liter V8 engine and paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. It’s a rear-wheel-drive model that combines both a plush ride and impressive power. At 83,000 miles, it's not the lowest-mileage option out there, but it’s still in the sweet spot for a car of this caliber. The Flint Grey Metallic exterior and Black Nappa leather interior are nice touches, while the AMG Sport and Premium II Packages add valuable features that appeal to buyers looking for both style and substance.

The bidding was pretty active with 27 bids, which indicates strong interest in this model. The final sale price of $9,999 came in just 4% above the fair value estimate of $9,600, making it a reasonable deal compared to recent sales of similar cars. Given the high mileage, this price strikes a balance. While some might argue there are better values out there, the combination of luxury features, a clean Carfax, and its overall condition made it worth the extra cash.

Community feedback was positive, with one commenter noting, “Very well bought. Congrats!” This reflects the sentiment that the buyer likely scored a solid deal, considering the features and the overall condition of the car.

For anyone hunting for a similar car, keep an eye on the maintenance history and ensure there are no red flags in the Carfax report. High-mileage luxury cars can be a gamble, so a thorough inspection is crucial. Check for wear on the interior and make sure the performance features like the transmission and audio system are in good working order. This CL550 is a reminder that with the right specs and condition, a high-mileage luxury coupe can still deliver an enjoyable driving experience at a fair price.
