A 2008 Mazda MX-5 Miata Grand Touring with just 40k miles sold for $12,500, and that's a solid deal in today's market.

This Miata is a sweet spot for buyers looking for a mix of fun and reliability. The 2.0-liter inline-four engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission makes it a driver’s car. The Grand Touring trim means it comes loaded with features like leather seats and a sporty vibe that sets it apart. Plus, it’s rear-wheel drive, which is a must for any true sports car enthusiast. The modifications—Bilstein shocks, H&R springs, and a Good-Win Racing front strut tower brace—enhance its handling and aesthetics, making it even more appealing. The Sunlight Silver Metallic finish paired with black leather gives it a sleek look that doesn’t scream for attention but still stands out.

At $12,500, this sale price is well below the estimated fair value of $14,200, marking it 12% under what we’d expect. The 17 bids indicate solid interest, showing that buyers are keen on this model, especially with such low mileage. The fact that it’s in good condition and has been well-maintained adds to its desirability. Given the market for low-mileage, manual Miatas, this price feels strong—definitely a win for the buyer.

In the comments, one user highlighted the appeal of the modifications, noting, "The upgrades make this Miata not just a car but an experience." That sums it up well. Buyers are looking for something that stands out and provides that extra engagement, and this Miata delivers.

For anyone hunting a similar car, pay close attention to the modifications. While they can enhance performance, make sure they’re done correctly and don't compromise the car's integrity. A well-done upgrade can increase value, but a poor one can turn into a headache. Also, check the maintenance history to ensure the car has been cared for properly; with a car like this, that’s what truly matters.
