A 2006 Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupe just sold for $31,250, marking it as strong money in the current market.

This car is a solid representation of the 997 generation, known for its blend of classic design and modern performance. With a 3.8L flat-6 engine producing 355 horsepower, it offers an exhilarating driving experience. The rear-wheel-drive configuration and automatic 5-speed transmission appeal to a broad range of buyers, especially those who want a reliable sports car without the fuss of a manual. It’s well-equipped with factory features like leather upholstery and a Bose sound system, adding a touch of luxury to the performance.

Now, let's talk about the price. With 83,000 miles on the clock, this 911 carries a bit of baggage, but it's not uncommon for a sports car of this age. The bidding was competitive, hitting 21 bids, which shows there's still strong interest in the model. The final sale price of $31,250 is 4% above the fair value estimate of $30,000, which suggests that buyers are willing to pay a premium for well-maintained examples like this one. Given the high mileage and minor cosmetic flaws, the price feels a bit steep but not unreasonable for a car that’s been well-kept and offers a solid driving experience.

Community sentiment was positive, with one buyer commenting, “You are going to love the car.” This kind of enthusiasm reflects the allure of owning a Porsche, even one that's seen a fair amount of road time. It’s clear that buyers are excited about the performance and reliability this model can offer.

For anyone hunting a similar car, keep an eye on the service history. This 911 had a detailed maintenance record that included recent work on critical components like the air/oil separator and intake manifold gasket. Such documentation can significantly affect value and future reliability, so make sure to ask for it. A well-maintained car can make all the difference in your ownership experience.
