The 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK320 Cabriolet sold for $9,650, and that’s strong money for this car, coming in 51% above the fair value estimate.

This CLK320 Cabriolet is a notable entry in the Mercedes lineup, featuring a 3.2-liter V6 engine paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. With only 50,000 miles on the clock, it’s a low-mileage find that appeals to those looking for a graceful blend of style and performance. The black exterior and beige Nappa leather upholstery add to its luxurious feel. The power-operated convertible top and heated, adjustable front seats enhance the driving experience, making it a solid option for sunny days or breezy evenings.

The final sale price reflects a hot auction dynamic, with 45 bids pushing the value significantly beyond the $6,400 fair value estimate. That’s a hefty premium for a car that, while nice, doesn’t inherently command such a high price tag in the current market. Buyers can get enthusiastic about low mileage and luxury features, but at nearly $10,000, it feels like a stretch for a mid-2000s convertible, even if it is in excellent shape. It’s worth noting that this sale price is more reflective of buyers' emotions and competition than market fundamentals.

Community feedback was generally positive, with one user celebrating the sale, saying, “Congratulations @heathone79 on your CLK320 Cab, we’ll be in touch shortly.” The excitement in the comments shows that despite the high price, there’s still appreciation for this model among enthusiasts.

For buyers eyeing similar cars, it’s crucial to check the service history and condition closely. Low mileage is often a good sign, but don’t overlook the importance of regular maintenance and any potential issues that could arise with age. This CLK320 had a clean title, which is a plus, but always verify that the car has been properly cared for. A thorough inspection can save you from costly surprises down the road.
