This 2004 Land Rover Range Rover HSE with just 23,000 miles sold for $22,500, and that’s strong money for this rig.

The 2004 Range Rover HSE is a blend of luxury and capability, powered by a 4.4-liter M62 V8 engine and mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Its low mileage makes it a standout in the marketplace, especially for a model known for its off-road prowess and on-road comfort. The Java Black exterior paired with Sand and Jet leather gives it a refined look, while features like the Heated Accessories Package and a premium Harman Kardon sound system cater to those who appreciate a plush ride. The dual-range transfer case adds to its versatility, appealing to buyers who want both luxury and ruggedness.

As for the price, it’s a different story. The $22,500 sale price sits 35% above the fair value estimate of $16,700. With 26 bids, the excitement was clearly there, but this sale feels like a stretch given the numbers. It’s hard to ignore the fact that this model has sold for significantly less, especially when comparable sales have set a lower bar. While the mileage is a major selling point, it didn’t quite justify the premium in this case.

The community buzz around this auction was positive, with comments like “Absolutely stolen!” suggesting that some folks viewed this as a good deal in the context of the bidding. One user even congratulated the buyer, saying, “Welcome to the L322 club!” This enthusiasm shows that there’s still a strong appreciation for low-mileage luxury SUVs, even if the price was on the high side.

For buyers eyeing a similar Range Rover, keep an eye on mileage and maintenance records. Low mileage is great, but how well the vehicle was cared for can make a significant difference in performance and resale value. Don’t just focus on the odometer; the condition of the engine and transmission is crucial, especially as these vehicles age. A thorough inspection can save you from unexpected repairs down the line.
