The 1993 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 sold for $26,500, which is strong money for this high-mileage, limited-edition beauty.

This Corvette ZR-1 is notable for its unique Bright Aqua Metallic paint, with only eight examples produced in this color. Under the hood, it houses the powerful 5.7-liter LT5 V8 engine, paired with a six-speed manual transmission, making it a true driver's car. With 81,000 miles, it occupies a sweet spot between being a collectible piece and a driver. It comes loaded with options like the Selective Ride and Handling Package, pop-up headlights, and a premium Delco Bose sound system, adding practical value for enthusiasts.

Now, let’s talk numbers. The bidding frenzy reached 42 bids, which indicates solid interest in this ZR-1. While the final sale price of $26,500 is above the fair value estimate of $23,400, selling 13% above market isn’t just a fluke. It reflects how this specific car's rarity and compelling option package resonated with bidders. The high bid count suggests that buyers see this as a desirable piece, even with the mileage.

Community comments highlight the uniqueness of the color choice. One user noted, “Most ZR-1’s were ordered by the dealerships and they bought the colors they knew they could sell.” This suggests that Bright Aqua is indeed a rarity in the ZR-1 crowd, making this particular car even more appealing to collectors.

For buyers on the hunt for a similar ZR-1, pay close attention to the color and options. Unique colors can significantly affect value, especially in a market where most ZR-1s are in more common shades like red or black. Mileage is another key factor; while higher miles can mean a good driver, they may also impact long-term value. Always check for maintenance records and overall condition, as these cars can be a blast to drive but require diligent upkeep to maintain their performance and appeal.
