The 1991 GMC Sierra K3500 SLE 4×4 dually just sold for $24,000, and that’s strong money for this rig.

This Sierra is a one-owner truck that packs a punch with its 7.4-liter V8 engine and four-speed automatic transmission. The striking Crimson Red and black paint, accented by white and blue pinstriping, makes it visually appealing. With 99,000 miles, it’s not exactly low mileage, but for a dually of this era, it’s relatively well-preserved. Buyers are drawn to specs like this, especially since it’s not just a workhorse; it’s got personality and style. Features like cab clearance lights and alloy wheels add a nice touch too.

Now, let’s talk about the sale price. The bidding was pretty intense, with 54 bids pushing the price up significantly. That’s a solid indication of demand, but here’s the kicker: the fair market estimate for this truck was $9,200, which means it sold for a whopping 161% above that estimate. In this case, the price is over the top. Sure, it’s got great features and mileage, but that’s a hefty premium for a truck that’s still a tool at heart.

The community was buzzing, with some comments reflecting both frustration and humor. One user said, "I told myself to stop at 20. I’m on the East Coast as well. Sucks nobody’s gonna wanna hear what I’m gonna do with it." This speaks volumes about the competitive nature of the auction. It’s clear that many were willing to bid high, but not everyone was on board with that final price.

For anyone hunting a similar truck, the key takeaway is to pay close attention to the condition and ownership history. This Sierra was one-owner and had a clean Carfax, which undoubtedly contributed to its appeal. Make sure to verify those details before jumping into the bidding fray. If you find a well-documented truck without any sketchy past, you might catch a break on price next time.
