The 1989 Chrysler LeBaron GTC Convertible Turbo II sold for $6,450, and that’s a deal—especially given its low mileage and rare specs.

This LeBaron isn’t just any old drop-top from the late '80s. With a turbocharged 2.2-liter inline-four and a five-speed manual transaxle, it delivers an engaging driving experience that sets it apart from the automatic alternatives that flooded the market. The low mileage of 54,000 is a huge plus, showcasing the car’s well-preserved condition. Combine that with a striking White Bright exterior, tan leather interior, and a black soft top, and you’ve got a nostalgic ride that appeals to collectors. Plus, the unmodified state is a big draw for buyers who want a slice of unadulterated automotive history.

Now, let’s talk money. The bidding reached 20 offers, which indicates decent interest in this unique piece of Chrysler’s engineering. However, the final price of $6,450 seems a bit low when considering similar models and their typical auction results. Most enthusiasts expected this one to hammer in the range of $10,000, so it’s clear there was some undervaluation happening here. The combination of rarity, low mileage, and manual transmission typically commands a higher price, making this sale a sweet deal for the buyer.

The community response was overwhelmingly positive, with one commenter noting, “Incredible deal for the buyer. Wow.” Another said, “That’s about $10k lower than I thought it would hammer for.” Clearly, there’s a consensus that this LeBaron was a steal, especially considering the unique features it offers.

For anyone hunting for a similar car, keep an eye out for how well the car has been preserved. Mileage can be a big factor, but also check for modifications. Original, unmodified cars tend to hold their value better and attract more serious collectors. If you can find a low-mileage, unmodified version like this LeBaron, you might just score a deal of your own.
