A 28k-mile 1979 Chevrolet Corvette just sold for $10,750, and that’s a deal—big time.

This C3 Corvette is a standout for several reasons. First off, it's got just 28,000 miles on the clock, which is almost unheard of for a car of this era. The 350ci L48 V8 engine paired with a three-speed automatic transmission strikes a balance between performance and ease of driving that appeals to a wide range of buyers. The black exterior with red upholstery isn't just a sharp look; it’s a classic color combo that resonates well with collectors. Plus, features like removable glass T-tops and a Positraction differential add to the appeal, making it a well-rounded package for cruising or showing off at car meets.

Now, let’s talk numbers. With 22 bids, the excitement was palpable, but the sale price was well below expectations. The fair value estimate for this Corvette was $20,402, meaning it sold for 47% less than market value. That’s not just a good deal; it’s a steal. The low mileage and desirable features usually push these cars closer to the mid-20s, especially with a no-reserve auction format.

In the comments section, one user noted, “This is a no-brainer at this price. Perfect for weekend drives or a collection.” It's clear the community recognized the value here, especially considering the car's condition and mileage.

For anyone hunting a similar Corvette, pay attention to the mileage and service history. Low mileage is a major plus, but you also want to ensure that the car has been well-maintained. Look for evidence of regular service and any upgrades or repairs that could affect performance and value down the line. In this case, the combination of low miles and a well-cared-for V8 made this Corvette an irresistible buy.
