This 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback sold for $86,000, and that’s strong money for a modified classic like this.

Let’s break down what makes this Mustang tick. Under the hood is a beefy 363ci Dart V8 engine equipped with a ProCharger supercharger, pushing performance to new heights. This isn't your average Mustang; it’s a modernized beast that’s been refurbished and modified to enhance its driving experience. The five-speed manual transmission adds to the fun factor, making it a choice for those who want both nostalgia and a thrilling drive. With only 17,000 miles shown, this car offers a rare combination of low mileage and high excitement — a big plus for buyers. The sleek silver repaint with black stripes and upgraded suspension gives it a fresh look, while Shelby-style details give a nod to its heritage.

Now, was the price fair? With 39 bids in a heated auction, it’s clear that interest was high. The final sale price of $86,000 reflects the modifications and condition of the car. Given the low mileage and the performance upgrades, this price sits on the higher end of the spectrum, but it’s not out of line for a 5-speed manual Mustang with a killer engine setup. Buyers are willing to pay a premium for well-done modifications and low mileage, and this sale proves that point.

As for the community buzz, one standout comment was from @mike_p56, who said, "Seller got a Smokin deal!!" That sentiment captures the excitement around this auction. It seems the community feels the new owner snatched this car at a price that reflects its value in the current market.

For buyers looking for a similar Mustang, keep an eye on the modifications. Not all upgrades are created equal. Focus on the quality of the engine work, transmission, and any suspension tweaks. A poorly executed modification can detract from the car's value. Make sure to get a good understanding of what’s been done and whether it aligns with your performance expectations.
